1. What is Form STK-6?
Form STK-6 is used for striking off or removal of the company’s name. Pursuant to sub-section (2) and sub-section (4) of section 248 of the Companies Act. The company must have closed off all of its liabilities. A general meeting of shareholders should be held, and a resolution to remove the Company's name from the register should be passed. This resolution requires the approval of 75% of the Company's members, according to the Company's paid-up share capital. And upon that public notice can be issued in the prescribed manner.
2. Why is it important?
The act of striking off a firm denotes the closure of a non-profitable venture. To put it another way, it's the quickest and most straightforward way to close a business, that is why Form STK 6 is important for companies.
