1. What is a Publishing agreement?
Publishing agreements are entered between the publisher and the author of the content for designing, marketing, and publishing the work of the author. This agreement may be limited to one-time work or a series of work. This agreement contains information as to the time of publication, the number of copies to be published, royalty to be paid, non-compete restrictions, etc.
2. Why is it important?
a. This agreement protects the legal rights of the author.
b. It gives exclusive rights to the publisher to publish the content/work of the author. c. In case there is a breach of contract, the parties have all the rights reserved and can also claim a penalty.
