1. What is a Pre-joining Induction Letter?
A pre-joining Induction Letter is sent by the employer to the college/university authorities of the employee in order to inform them that the employer is willing to extend an offer of On the Job Training to their student and may in future also extend their student an offer of permanent employment. This letter clearly states the duration of the Induction programme. This pre-joining induction letter also mentions that the permanent employment offer is contingent to the successful completion of the induction programme. The letter specifies that the training cost for the students is borne by the employer and that the programme is tailored according to the department of employment and the scope of work of the employer.
2. Why is it important?
The Pre-Joining Induction Letter works as a formal permission letter to the employer from the university authorities to start with the transition process of the students from the academic environment to a professional one. It clearly outlines the areas of responsibility of the employer and the university authorities so that no conflict of liabilities and rights arise in future.
This letter clearly states that the offer of permanent employment is contingent on the successful completion of the induction programme and the duration of the induction programme.
