1. What is Form MGT 6?

According to section 89 of the Companies Act, where any declaration is made to the company regarding the persons whose name is in the register of members as a shareholder but they do not hold any beneficial interest in such shares, the company shall make a note of such declaration in the register concerned and shall file, within thirty days from the date of receipt of declaration by it, a return in Form MGT 6 with the Registrar in respect of such declaration with such fees.

2. Why is it Important?

a. It is a statutory requirement 

b. It helps the company in providing details of the holders who though are the members of the company but did not hold a beneficial interest in the shares of the company.
