What is a Licensing Agreement?
A licensing agreement is an agreement between a licensor and a licensee where the licensor is the owner of an idea, product or service and licensee is the party that aims to manufacture and market such a product, service, or idea or utilise such a service, product or idea to create another commodity for its business.
Why is it important?
In exchange for the rights to the product, idea or service the licensor receives consideration and retains the ownership of the product, service or idea and other rights related to it. The licensee on the other hand has the right to all the works or products created with the help of such a product, idea or service.
