1. What is Form VIII Rule 34 ?
This form is related to the maintaining the register of leave as per rule 34 Motor Transport Worker Rules, Every employer shall maintain a Leave book in Form No. VIII. The Leave Book shall be the property of the worker and the employer or his agent shall not demand it except to make necessary entries and shall not keep it for more than a week at a time. In case where any leave card or similar record giving full particulars of the leave in the leave book is issued by the employer to the motor transport worker such card or record may be accepted by order in writing by the Chief Inspector.
2. Why is it Important ?
This form is important because it keeps a track on the leave management of the employees. This form consists of information related to wages, balance of leaves, wage rate, numbers of leave refused , balance of leave to credit etc. It is the duty of every employee to maintain such a register to record and track his employees' leaves.
