1. What is Form A?
Form A is filed pursuant to rule 3 of the maternity benefit central rules. As per the rules, every employer shall prepare and maintain a muster-roll in Form 'A' and shall enter therein particulars of all women workers. All entries in the muster-roll shall be made in ink and maintained up-to-date and it shall always be available for inspection by the Inspector during working hours. The employer may enter in the muster-roll such other particulars as may be required for any other purpose of the Act.
2. Why is it important?
It is a mandatory requirement on the part of the employer. This form prescribed the standard format in which records of the woman employee are to be maintained by the employer so that no disputes arise while providing claims. This helps in maintaining transparency.
