1. What is Form L?
Form L is used for Annual Return for the Year. Every mining or circuses employer must upload a unified annual return on the Central Government's web portal in the Ministry of Labour and Employment on or before the 1st day of February each year, presenting information as to the particulars mentioned, for the preceding year.
The inspector may require the production of accounts, books, registers, and other documents, whether in electronic or paper form, during the inspection.
2. Why is it important?
It is important as it keeps the proper record of all the employees working in mining and circuses. If the employer of a mine or circus to which the Act applies sells, abandons or discontinues the mine or circus's operations, he must upload a new unified return in accordance with the Act within one month of the sale or abandonment, so this will help in proper filing of Annual Return.
