1. What is Form IV?
Form IV is filed pursuant to section 6(2) of the Industrial Employment ( Standing Order ) act, 1947 and Rule 7A of the Industrial Employment ( Standing Order ) Central rules, 1950. As per the provision any person desiring to prefer an appeal in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Act shall draw up a memorandum of appeal setting out the grounds of appeal and forward it in quintuplicate to the appellate authority accompanied by a certified copy of the standing orders, amendments or modifications, as the case may be. The memorandum of appeal shall be in Form IV set out in Schedule II to these rules.
2. Why is it important?
a. It is a mandatory requirement.
b. It contains the format in which an appeal can be made to the prescribed authority against any injustice.
c. It is a standard format and everyone has to follow it.
