1. What is Form I?
Form I is filed pursuant to section 17 and rule 10 of the Maternity Benefit Central Rules. As per the provision, any woman who is eligible to claim benefits under the act and has been deprived of the same may make a complaint to the Inspector in form I. The Inspector may, of his own motion or on receipt of a complaint make an inquiry or cause an inquiry to be made and upon satisfaction of the claim can make such a decision as he deems fit.
2. Why is it important?
It is a mandatory requirement under the law. This form prescribed the format in which a complaint against the employer can be filed by a woman employee if she is deprived of her benefits by the Inspector.
