1. What is Form F?
Form F is filed pursuant to rule 5(4) of the Maternity Benefit Central Rules. As per the provision Whenever the payment claimed by a woman under the maternity benefit act is made, a receipt shall be obtained by the employer in Form 'F' from the person to whom the payment is made. In cases falling under sub-rule (2), a receipt shall be given to the employer by the competent authority. Also, The medical bonus shall be paid along with the second instalment of the maternity benefit. The maternity benefit or any other amount payable under section 7 shall be paid within two months of the date of death of the woman entitled to receive such benefit or amount.
2. Why is it important?
It is a mandatory requirement under the law. This form prescribed the format of receipt to be provided to the employer by the person or authority receiving the amount so that the employer can keep that in its records and avoid any disputes in the future related to the same.
