This is coordinated by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology. Upon nine pillars the government has planned the digital India programme. All such steps were decided with the introduction of digital India by the government to ensure that there is a high usage of the technological platform.

Digitalization has brought about a new revolution in this era of advancement and has aided in making government provided services easier to access.

  • Digital locker system which is meant to minimize to use of papers for documentation and increase the usage of sharing e- document all over the government offices and other private institution. This has been brought through registered repositories which ensures the authenticity of the online documents. This has made the work far more easy and simple that before. Online documentation ensures that the documents are not misplaced and save a lot of time.
  • High- speed internet facility all over India has helped a lot of people to work online which was a big problem of people living in rural areas. Now people all over India enjoy high- speed internet facility.
  • E-sign network enables the people to sign the document online through the aadhar authentication which again makes it easy for the citizen to use this online service rather than standing in a queue just for a signature on any documents.
  • National scholarship portal is another feature that adds to the wings of digital India. It was a big task to avail the scholarship but this feature of digital India from submission of an application to verification of document to acceptance of the application this portal helps altogether.
  • Swachh Bharat Mission mobile app made it easier for the citizens and the government to attain the objective of Swachh Bharat

  • Introduction of BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app has made the transaction easy, simple and quick. One can transfer the money in any account from any corner without visiting the banks.
  • Crop insurance mobile app is another feature which calculates the Insurance Premium for the crops based on area, coverage amount and also loan amount in case of loanee farmer and it also gives information about the normal sum insured, extended sum insured, subsidy information of any crop.
  • Aadhar identity is one of the largest keys of digital India which has given unique identity or aadhar number to every India citizen and is known to be the largest biometrics-based identification system in the world which in turn has also enabled aadhar payment system.

India would become a very powerful word by being digitally connected. Digitalization has brought a wider scope for India to grow in technological spheres. This basically aims to provide all the services digitally from paying off bills to the filling of cases and many more as discussed above. This concept of digital India is removing the gap between the government organizations and the general public and has increased transparency in the work process. Digital learning and education is the need of the hour and this has been made possible through digital India, as well as e-banking has made our lives much easier than before and has led to many more advancement in the banking sector. If such projects are introduced in India in relation to digitalization, soon India will see the glory and will progress in all fields. Digitalization has bridged the gap between hope and opportunity.
