1. What is Form AOC 5?
This form is related to the Notice of Address at which books of accounts are maintained and is required to be filed pursuant to section 128 of the Companies Act,2013. To incorporate a company, proof of address is mandatory to have a registered office and this form helps them in maintaining the same address while changing the place of business, an intimation of form AOC 5 is to be filed within 7 days of passing of Board Resolution and this form does not require professional certification.
2. Why is it Important?
It is important because it allows companies to keep accounting details at any place in the country, it can be in hard copy or electronic mode. There is also a penalty in case of non-compliance with the provision of section 128 of the Companies Act 2013 a term which may extend to 1 year or fine not less than 50,000 or both.
