Delhi High Court Issues Directions To Organise Functioning of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Mehta

One Mr Surender Sah filed a Writ Petition of Habeas Corpus in the Delhi High Court as his girl child Ms Naina Kumari, allegedly aged 15 years, has been missing since 14th October 2019. On 20th February 2020, the Hon’ble Division Bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal held that in various circumstances involving missing children, the District level Police typically is unable to locate the missing child.

The Court directed transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) for investigation of the missing child. The Court further issued the various directions to enable the AHTU to become more effective in fulfilling its role. « Read more » to know those directions and further developments in the case.
